Character customisation not working properly

Report and Discuss Low to Medium Priority Problems

  • When I try to modify customisation of character model it will reset just after restarting game or enter any kind of game.

    If I set it and go back into menu the settings will remain but if I'll start a game or I turn the game off and on it will reset to default. So I cannot change faction or modify anything.

    I've found out that after 10 changes it actually saved. But after it I was unable to change it again it keeps resetting to last saved state. And again after about 10 changes and restarting game it finally changed.

    I've tried verifying game files reinstalling game it does not fixed that problem. My friends don't have this problem. They have problems with FPS freezed on 60 but I've about 90 FPS. It's weird :D

    Thanks for making this game, love it :)

  • You can edit the ini file UDKCustomChar to get the changes to stick. I've had the same problem you are, and that's how I've worked around the problem.

    If you're looking to change colors, the slider ticks go from 0 to 14.
    0=white
    1=light gray
    2=darker gray (slightly brown?)
    3=red
    4=orange
    5=tan
    6=yellow
    7=yellow/green
    8=green
    9=teal
    10=blue
    11=dark blue
    12=slightly purple blue
    13=purple
    14=pink

    These colors can be put into these fields:
    PrimaryColorIndex=
    SecondaryColorIndex=
    GlowColorIndex=

    Then you have that ranges from 0-8. It should be noted that they don't stand out much so there's little impact in having them.
    0=none
    1=standard camo
    2=digital camo
    3=blotches
    4=leopard spots
    5=desert camo
    6=twigs
    7=hex grid
    8=swirls light a Van gogh painting

    Camo numbers are placed here:
    CamouflageIndex=

    You have two options for factions, Drayos and Exocom. It ranges from 0-3. If you input 4 or greater you get an invalid character model that can mess up the game, so try not to do that.
    0 and 1 give Drayos
    2 and 3 give Exocom
    At present both Drayos and both Exocom options look the same. I suspect that both numbers are there as place holders for gendered models in future updates.

    What to change:
    FamilyIndex=
