  • Hey there.

I'm pretty new to the Arena Shooter (and generally competitive FPS) thing so how can I train my aim? Playing online is pretty frustrating when most of the shots are a miss.

  • Probably the first and most important thing.

Get your mouse sensitivity perfect. Lower is normally better. Make sure all acceleration is off. Also turn off MouseSmoothing in the .ini.

    Steam/SteamApps/common/TOXIKK/UDKGame/Config

    Find the UDKInput.ini file.
Find the line that says bEnableMouseSmoothing=True

    Set True to False.

  • Well, one thing you might try is practicing online. There are numerous pages on web that can help improve your aiming skills. Just google aimbooster and try it out. It might seem bit stupid in begining but it will help you. Practice at least 15-20 min every day. Also, as previously stated, turn your mouse acc in game, windows and mouse software settings and find your best suited mouse speed.

Your screen resoulution can impact your aiming as well, set in-game resoulution to match your monitor native res. NOTE: I don`t know how much impact of it have in ut engine so be aware, and if resolution change does help with aimng, the difference might not be huge.

When you get all of your settings right, go in-game on a empty server and find spot that will be your non moving target, then do some moves and try to hit it as many times as possible. Get MP or offline game with bots going and practice practice and offcourse more practice. Aiming is all about perfect coordination between your right and left hand.
Hope this was somewhat helpfull, GL&HF ;)

  • Lower your sensitivity and then lower it some more. Then when you think you're at a low sensitivity, lower it again.

And then you know what? Practice. A LOT.

  • If I had to make one suggestion I think is most important to aiming (besides mouse settings):

    - Relax! It seemed counterintuitive to me for a long time, but your aim increases dramatically if you are as relaxed as possible while maintaining full focus. I have an anxious disposition, so this might not be very helpful to you. It was to me at any rate.
