Well, I'm kinda disappointed to be honest
The thing that hit me first was how little damage non lethal bullets appear
to do to demons. They had no reaction to being shot, which just makes the weapons feel like pea shooters (The lethal bullets, on the other hand, had some really gory effects that were awesome though
Second, the level seemed too
cramped for my liking. What's the point in having extremely fast movement if you can't get to that speed without bumping into walls all the time?
The chainsaw locked you into an animation every time the guy used it (these anims will get old very quickly, as they always do). In a fast paced shooter, that just doesn't make sense....
The weapon wheel that appears to slow game time, the mantle animation, the stupid "LOOK, LOOK AT THIS WEAPON MODEL YOU JUST PICKED UP, SEE? I MADE THAT! ISNT IT NICE! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT TO HURRY UP AND SHOOT PEOPLE! LOOK AT IT! I SAID LOOK AT IT!!".... a lot of this stuff just contradicts the "fast paced" thing that they are saying that they're going for.
The demo itself was awful, they did that thing that a lot of game devs do where they show you how you would play the game if your hands were made of plasticine. Nobody, even console players, aim like that, move like that, or shoot like that - it was especially cringey seeing the guy awkwardly aim with his movement rather than by looking at who he wants to shoot, and then of course the demo was clearly played with a controller.
Graphics will probably be downgraded for consoles (all of the gameplay looked somewhat dumbed down for a console experience, no doubt graphics will be a part of that).
Maybe my cynicism towards this game is an unjust response to the couple of years of unbearable disappointments, but I can't help but feel that this game isn't going to be what I was hoping for.
